What details should be noted before using a capacitor and inductor tester?

Recommended by Dary Electric

The capacitor and inductor tester is mainly used for measuring high-voltage parallel capacitor banks of reactive power compensation devices, as well as reactors. Its measurement basis conforms to the national standard for capacitance measuring instruments.

The capacitor and inductor tester adopts a new generation of high-speed hybrid microprocessors, highly integrated, with dual high-speed 16-bit AD converters built into the chip, synchronously collecting the voltage and current signals of the capacitor under test, automatically identifying range switching and program-controlled amplifier gain. Its amplification capability is more than 1000 times, and the selected precision resistors have minimal temperature influence. After converting the data through microprocessor operations, the test results are obtained and displayed on the LCD screen with all measurement parameters. The entire measurement process is automatically completed by the instrument.

Precautions before using the capacitor and inductor tester:

1. After unpacking the instrument, check against the packing list to ensure everything is consistent.

2. Before operating the capacitor and inductor tester, you should first read this manual in detail, or operate under the guidance of personnel familiar with this instrument, to avoid misoperation.

3. The power input line should match the power socket of this instrument.

4. Since the liquid crystal is affected by temperature, the screen grayscale may change. If the characters are not clear, you can adjust the knob.

5. The clamp meter is generally used together with the instrument, but it can also be used alone. After each use, please put it back in the protective box to avoid damage.

6. The capacitor and inductor tester should work in the environment specified by the technical indicators. The instrument, especially the test leads, should be kept away from strong electromagnetic fields to avoid interference with the measurement.

7. When the capacitor and inductor tester has completed testing or needs to be opened for troubleshooting, the power switch should be turned off and the power plug should be unplugged.

8. The test cables, wires, and clips of the capacitor and inductor tester should be kept clean to ensure good test contact.
