For acceptance testing of substation grounding grids or post-modification evaluation, procurement personnel often need to balance "sufficient" against "reserve margin." The DRD-210A large grounding grid impedance tester is designed for measuring the grounding characteristics of large grounding grids. In terms of output capability, anti-interference method, and on-site adaptability, it can serve as a comparative reference against conventional low-current test equipment.
The system output power covers 2–20kW, output voltage 0–1000V, and output current 0–50A. Compared with common 3A and 5A class grounding resistance testers, this configuration more easily establishes sufficient test current when measuring large grounding grids, facilitating stable grounding impedance data, and is suitable for grounding installations with large areas and complex soil conditions.
Using variable-frequency high-current measurement, the test process does not cause excessively high potential on the grounding installation, while providing strong anti-interference capability, enabling measurement without power outage. For continuously operating substations, this feature can reduce power outage coordination steps; during procurement, its applicability can be evaluated in conjunction with on-site operating conditions.
Compared with conventional grounding resistance testers, the DRD-210A leaves more headroom in output power and current upper limit, making it suitable for scenarios with higher measurement requirements for grounding impedance; the equipment size and power supply requirements increase accordingly, so on-site power capacity and transport access must be confirmed before procurement. If only routine checks of small grounding electrodes are needed, low-current equipment is sufficient, and there is no need to pursue a high-power configuration.
Suitable for grounding impedance measurement of large grounding grids in power plants and substations, and also for effect verification of grounding modification projects.
