Precautions for Using Variable Frequency Series Resonance Withstand Voltage Test Device - Yangzhou Darui

Recommended by Darui Electric

1. Precautions before operating the variable frequency series resonance withstand voltage test device: 1. There should be no less than 2 operators. During use, strictly abide by the safety operation regulations for high-voltage tests of the unit.

3. All connecting wires must not be connected incorrectly, especially the grounding wire. Otherwise, it may cause damage to the test device.

4. To ensure the safety and correctness of the test, in addition to being familiar with this product manual, you must also strictly follow national standards and regulations for test operations.

5. If the voltage cannot be increased after power-on and returning to zero, press and hold the reset button for a long time (about 10 seconds), and ensure that the indicator lights on the control box panel are normal, i.e., no other red lights are on except for "High Voltage", then start normal operation.

6. When using the variable frequency series resonance withstand voltage test device, it outputs high voltage or ultra-high voltage, so it must be reliably grounded and attention should be paid to operational safety.

7. When the voltage is greater than 10V and tuning has not been performed, the system will automatically detune to prevent high voltage from harming the test object or even causing injury to the human body upon resonance.

2. Precautions for arranging the test grounding wire

Because the capacitance of the test cable is quite large, if the test object breaks down or high-voltage lead discharges to ground during the test, transient overvoltage may occur at the grounding end of the cable, the test grounding wire, and the control box shell. This instrument has multiple transient overvoltage protection measures built into the control box and main components to ensure normal operation of the equipment. In addition, the following protective methods should be noted in the arrangement of the test grounding wire:

1. Use a specially configured single-point grounding test grounding wire set. Pay special attention to keeping the test grounding wire as short as possible, and do not arbitrarily extend the grounding wire length.

2. The test equipment (resonant reactor, voltage divider, excitation transformer, etc.) should be placed as close as possible to the cable under test to reduce the length of the test grounding wire, i.e., reduce the inductance of the grounding wire.

3. The test transformer has three terminals: 800V, 1000V, and 1500V. When the high voltage required by the system is less than 15kV, select the 800V terminal; when it is greater than 15kV but less than 60kV, select the 1000V terminal; when it is greater than 60kV, select the 1500V terminal.

4. During the test, operators should not touch the metal shell of the control box except for the tuning and voltage regulation insulation knobs; otherwise, there may be a slight tingling sensation when the high-voltage side breaks down or discharges. If conditions permit, it is recommended that operators work on a rubber insulating mat.
