This device is based on a microprocessor and uses VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display) to provide immediate reading of leak rate. Its internal memory system can store 100 individual leak rate readings, and readings can be printed out via an RS232 interface connector.
Using the principle of Electron Capture Detection (ECD), the probe gun contains a low-power radioactive source. To measure leaks, when the tracer gas pressure is slightly higher than the ambient pressure, the tracer gas fills the test component. This condition will cause the tracer gas to leak through any cracks, holes, or porous areas. The leakage of tracer gas will be detected and quantified by the Q200.
Each device is configured by the manufacturer for a specific tracer gas or measurement setup. The default configuration is for SF6 monitoring, but it can also be specially set to accommodate other gases.
