After the insulation resistance tester automatic discharge test is completed
An insulation resistance tester, commonly known as a "megohmmeter" or "megger," is an essential basic instrument in electrical safety and equipment maintenance. It applies a stable DC high voltage to the insulation material of the device under test and measures the weak leakage current flowing through it, thereby calculating the insulation resistance value to determine whether the equipment insulation is damp, aged, or defective.
From the early hand-cranked analog meters to modern testers that integrate digitalization, intelligence, and automation, their functionality and safety have been greatly improved.
⚙️ Working Principle
Its core principle is based on Ohm's law (R=U/I).
After the insulation resistance tester automatic discharge test is completed, an extremely weak leakage current is generated.
Calculate resistance: The instrument measures this current through a high-precision circuit and automatically calculates the insulation resistance value (R), displayed in megohms (MΩ) or gigohms (GΩ).
